In addition to our own Summer Institute (This year: “Executive Power: Oregon, the United States, and the Constitution), Classroom Law Project has many sister organizations around the country who offer exceptional professional development experiences either free or at extremely affordable cost. It’s time to start thinking of how to enhance your practice with some fantastic summer PD opportunities!


Center for Civic Ed –
The New Presidential and Congressional Academies
July 7 – 20, 2019 – FREE

Description: For teams of one teacher and two students from the same school or school district. Teachers are welcome to encourage students entering twelfth grade in the fall at their school or district to apply. Both Academies will be open to participants from throughout the country. There will be 51 teachers and 102 students in attendance each year. Transportation, room, and board costs will be paid by a federal grant. The 2019 Academies will be held at Goucher College, Baltimore, Maryland on July 7-20, 2019 and will include multiple field trips to historical places, along with high quality professional development with pre-eminent history and civics scholars.
