For the 2018/19 school year, thirty eager law students have enrolled in the fall and spring Street Law Seminars. The law students will provide lessons on criminal and juvenile law and the Bill of Rights in the fall semester and torts, consumer, and family law in the spring semester. Street Law topics are an appropriate fit with government, psychology, sociology, and elective law classes.
The ideal situation is for the law students to work with the same class of high school students two periods a week if the periods are 50 minutes or one period a week if the class is 90 minutes.
The students will contact you to arrange a meeting and to observe you teach one or two classes before they begin. In the fall, the law students will begin teaching the week of September 24. The last day the students are expected to teach is November 30. In the spring, they will start the week of February 4 and end April 19. CLP will make at least 2 visits to observe the law students during their 10 weeks with you.
Please register for Street Law by September 10. Once you register, we will follow up for details regarding class days & times.
